Personal evaluation

We tackle problems our own size. Big people tackle big problems, and small people tackle small problems. The better a persons self-image, the more willing he or she is to take a risk to handle a big problem. The more fragile a persons self-image, the less willing she or he is to tackle a big problem. Problems can stop you temporarily, but only you can stop yourself permanently. We cannot continually handle problems in a way that is inconsistent with the way we see ourselves. If you evaluate yourself as a person of worth., then you will begin to tackle big problems. One of the ways you can tell whether you're growing emotionally and spiritually is by the size of the problems that you're willing to tackle.
The size of your problem is determined not only by how you see it but by what you seek in life. Again, your problem is not your problem. Problems defeat us when we lack purpose in life. Goal-oriented people dont let problems deter them from their goals. If they want to reach them badly enough, they're going to reach them.
People who regularly allow themselves to get sidetracked by problems are people who have no clear purpose in life. When we have a purpose, when we really seek and desire the best of life, our problems begin to shrink. Here's the way it works. As our purpose increases, our problems decrease. As our goal decreases, our problem increases. (Taken from book "Be all you can be!" written by John C. Maxwell)

Last weekend was full of experiences. We went to Sabah with friends, and stayed at the youth camp that was held in Borneo Paradise. Very beautiful place at the coast. Small island was walking distance through the water. With our group whe had adventure climbind the hill. Bit rugged way sometimes what we wanted to reach goal...we did it. On the way back one insect bite my tumb, and it started to get swollen. When I reached the camp place it was already much swollen, hot and red. My body was covered with red rush, and it was too itchy. 3 times I black out ..I prayed what should I do. My nurse friends suggested to go to hospital, but certainly I didnt want. The Charcoal was last solution...but unfortunately I didnt have charcoal with me. But praise the Lord, my friends organized charcoal for me and gave me very consentrated amount of it to drink. Proximately after 1 hour resting I was on my feet, bit dizzy still, but thanks to support and encouragements from my friends I tryed to keep my heart merry...as its the best medicine. My skin was complately clear next day. So happy for fast recovery.

Asian life

For the first time I visited Asian wedding. Its similar with European wedding. The food is just in abundance...like 8 courses of meals. People certainly overeat in this part of the world.
My breakfast consists mainly from the fruits. At the stuff house we have mango tree and ripe mangos are dropping down everyday. Today we had sweet, smelly yellow mangos and pomelo. For lunch is usually vegetable dish. Every house has different mango varietys and coconuts, rambutans, longan berrys, pomelos ect.
Tomorrow we will have health presentation about longevity in medical department at the University, additionally we will do healthy lifestyle book presentation.

Blessings in Brunei

I arrived to Brunei this Sunday evening. It has been very busy time, from morning til late evening distributing educational and health books with brother D.L. Meeting with different people from Europe, India, Philippines, Iran ect. The fasting week for moslem people will start next week and will last for 1 month. Their fasting tradition is like this they can eat before 6 am. and after 6 pm. And they break their fast with dates. And usually have social dinner time at buffee. Last night I was asked to present healthy fasting speech at toastmasters club for 7-9 minutes. I talked about different styles of fasting like for detoxing the body, spiritual matter. The reason can be seeking more clouser relationship with God and therefore abstaining from habits that debilitate the body.

 There were around 15 people and later on they evaluated the speech. I have many things to learn still. For example not making long pause and trying to keep eyecontact with people, aswell not looking at the sealing. Also if I want to convince people in somtehing I need to raise my voice and show my emotion. My voice need cultivation for sure.
    Ministers and teachers should give special attention to the cultivation of the voice. They should learn to speak, not in a nervous, hurried manner, but with a slow, distinct, clear utterance, preserving the music of the voice. {CT 239.3}
The Saviour's voice was a music to the ears of those who had been accustomed to the monotonous, spiritless preaching of the scribes and Pharisees. He spoke slowly and impressively, emphasizing those words to which He wished His hearers to give special heed. Old and young, ignorant and learned, could catch the full meaning of His words. This would have been impossible had He spoken in a hurried way and rushed sentence upon sentence without a pause. The people were very attentive to Him, and it was said of Him that He spoke not as the scribes and Pharisees, for His word was as of one who had authority. . . . {CT 240.1}

Next week we plan to do "fasting for cooking" demo for Faculty of Medicin staff and students.

The true fasting which should be recommended to all, is abstinence from every stimulating kind of food, and the proper use of wholesome, simple food, which God has provided in abundance. Men need to think less about what they shall eat and drink, of temporal food, and much more in regard to the food from heaven, that will give tone and vitality to the whole religious experience. {CD 90.1}
Through Esther the queen the Lord accomplished a mighty deliverance for His people. At a time when it seemed that no power could save them, Esther and the women associated with her, by fasting and prayer and prompt action, met the issue, and brought salvation to their people.{CC 245.2}

Cultivate good habits

In order for brain to get used to with new habits, its important to repeat new habits many times.
Cultivate the habit of talking with the Saviour. . . . Let the heart be continually uplifted in silent petition for help, for light, for strength, for knowledge. Let every breath be a prayer.
 True prayer, offered in faith, is a power to the petitioner. Prayer, whether offered in the public assembly, at the family altar, or in secret, places man directly in the presence of God. By constant prayer the youth may obtain principles so firm that the most powerful temptations will not draw them from their allegiance to God.  {ML 18.5}

The art of understanding your mate

Marriage can be wonderful – and frustrating.
There are no perfect marriages for the simple reason that there are no perfect people, and no one person can satisfy all of one’s needs. The difficulty of achieving a workable marriage is compounded enormously by genetic differences between any two persons. Their environmental backrounds are different, as are their personalities, needs, goals, drives, and emotional responses.
A young woman may know intellectually that it is impossible for two imperfect people to achieve a perfect marriage, yet at a deep feeling level she entertains a romantic dream of perfect fulfillment whit a husband who is gentle and considerate, yet strong and wise – a man who will meet all her needs. She wants to be protected, cherished, loved, yet she desires complete freedom and autonomy. She will often push and test the limits just to make sure they are there, and to test her husbands strength. She receives a sense of security from knowing that he is strong to know what is expected of her, but without limiting her freedom of choice. She wants to be appreciated and to have her self-identity reinforced by oft-repeated signs of recognition, approval and affection.
She wants, basically to be helper, not the boss, but she will seem to seek dominance as she pushes and tests. She desires to control within her own sphere, which involves the home and children, yet she needs a husband’s concern and strength. She wants her “sphere of influence” to be reasonably flexible, depending upon her fluctuating emotional needs; she wants to have affection expressed in many ways, both great and small.

SYC

The time in Malaysia is going very fast. So many activities...when you get adopted and feel comfortable in that country. I am happy I have seen so many places and experienced so much already since 23 of January. And especially I met many nice people, and made good friends. God has been providing to me all what I need. I took part in SYC (Sabah Youth for Christ) which took place in one amazingly beautiful resort, it was wondeerful experience. Timetable was busy. Especially I liked prayer room. Morning started at 5 am in prayer room. Followed by breakfast and meetings. The moto was" Pastor Cody encouraged to be fearless as Daniel and his 3 friends. If we are in fire like 3 friends of Daniel then we can see Jesus clearly with us. Lets be fearless and not look what can be fearful ahead. If we choose for God there will be no fear. God is love, and there is no fear in love. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Lets use every opportunity to witness becouse there is a great reward. Maybe we cant see reward right away but we will see it later. 1 Corinthians 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
SYC finished with wall climbing...was exciting.
Next day we went on a Sapi island. Snorkeling was fun. There were big lizards coming from the forrest for their meal (leftovers from the restaurant). I have never seen such a big lizards before.
After beach we enjoyed meal in vegetarian restaurant.

Let God plan for you!

The time is flying. We are getting clouser for coming of Jesus. I have been meeting many different people that have made big impact on my life! Thankful for that! God bless you all with this quatation:

Christ in His life on earth made no plans for Himself. He accepted God’s plans for Him, and day by day the Father unfolded His plans. So should we depend upon God, that our lives may be the simple outworking of His will. As we commit our ways to Him, He will direct our steps. {Pr 226.3}
Too many, in planning for a brilliant future, make an utter failure. Let God plan for you. As a little child, trust to the guidance of Him who will “keep the feet of His saints.” 1 Samuel 2:9. God never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could see the end from the beginning and discern the glory of the purpose which they are fulfilling as co-workers with Him.—(Ministry of Healing, 478, 479.) {Pr 226.4}

Sabbath

We had wonderful Sabbath in church. Youth from Japan made a special program, with singing and witnessing. "Where was God when terrible tsunami came?" were many asking... Speaker made conclusion that God had still everything under control, He was still there. Satan’s plan of temptation is always the same. While everything moves prosperously, people think that they have faith. But when suffering, disaster, or disappointment comes, they lose heart. A faith that is dependent on circumstances or surroundings, that lives only when everything goes smoothly, is not a genuine faith. {CTr 107.4}
For nations as well as for individuals, the path of obedience to God is the path of safety and happiness, while that of transgression leads only to disaster and defeat. {CC 145.6}
After church we enjoyed the nature.

Are you burdened, anxious,...?

And he who seeks to give light to others will himself be blessed. "There shall be showers of blessing." He that watereth shall be watered also himself. Proverbs 11:25
Humble your
selves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on him, for He cares about you. Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world. (1 Peter 5:6-9)
Our life can be burdensome if we think and contemplate much what others think and say about our life.
Be satisfied, thankful and happy where you are, who you are, what you do. You are created to be a blessing to others, and be blessed by others...there is no coinsidence with God.
Remember the Bible verse...Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O lord, my strength, and my Redeemer. Psalms 19:14

Restaurant opening

Eve is now ready to go to Germany for medical missionary training. Friends and relatives poured her over with flour, eggs, water balloons as a custom for saying good bye. Poor girl, she had to wash her hairs twise to get rid of egg smell...but good thing is that eggs are nourishing for the hairs, makes them shiny and strong.

Green paste consists of rice flour, starch. This will be mixed with cocoonut drink. I tasted today the drink and it was really good. Lots of ice inside.
Hermanto and Nellia opened restaurant just behind our clinic. I helped with Eve and Sanessa to cut bitter melon.
First day relatives and friends enjoyed the food for free.

Secure life's best results

Jesus came to this earth to accomplish the greatest work ever accomplished among men. He came as God's ambassador, to show us how to live so as to secure life's best results. What were the conditions chosen by the Infinite Father for His Son? A secluded home in the Galilean hills; a household sustained by honest, self-respecting labor; a life of simplicity; daily conflict with difficulty and hardship; self-sacrifice, economy, and patient, gladsome service; the hour of study at His mother's side, with the open scroll of Scripture; the quiet of dawn or twilight in the green valley; the holy ministries of nature; the study of creation and providence; and the soul's communion with God--these were the conditions and opportunities of the early life of Jesus. {AH 132.2}

climbing the hill

Made on top of the hill. Good exercise after work.

Coming back in dark wasnt easy...especially with slippers on the stony craggy paths. I was bit ahead from others, I didnt had any light even cell phone to show the way, I almost thought I lost the track..but guess what, there were some smart people who believe in God. They put white wooden crosses after every 10 meters to show the way. What a wonderful experiences. We have to behold the cross our Jesus Christ to be always on track, and not be lost. Even in dark times there is light!!!

Tamparuli town

Rambutan fruit is rich in carbohydrate, protein, fat, phosphorus, iron, calcium and vitamin C. Eating five fruit in a day can seriously decrease the chance of cancer. Rambutan fruit is also very effective in the treatment of lowering blood pressure, diabetis and dysentry.

Choose the red coloured ones.

Tamparuli is a small town and a sub-district of Tuaran on the west coast of Sabah, Malaysia. It is populated mainly by native Dusuns, while a sizeable Chinese community runs most of the shops in the town proper. (Wikipedia)

Clinic is in town and our home is 5 min drive from it, on the countryside.

Borneo Island

  • Durian from inside. The taste is sweet and texture creamy. The fruit is big in itself, but little you can get from inside, as the seeds are big and peel thick. The smell is not unpleasant as people say. Some people are too sensitive to that smell...many people are surprised that I like the fruit. Durian is the king of the fruits, rich in vitamins and minerals.

  • Nutrition and Health Benefits of Eating Durian
    Durian is a strong blood cleanser and a powerful aphrodisiac.
    The roots and leaves of durian are used for preparing traditional medicines for curing fevers and jaundice.
    The decoction prepared from leaves and fruits, is helpful for treating swellings and skin diseases.
    The rind of durian is burned and the ash is consumed by women after childbirth.
    Due to the high levels of amino acid tryptophan, durian is known to alleviate anxiety, depression and insomnia.
    By raising levels of serotonin in the brain, it helps in creating feeling of happiness.
    It is highly useful in lowering cholesterol.
    It is a good muscle builder, due to its high content of soft protein.
    Durian is a good source of vitamin C that helps in developing resistance against infectious agents and scavenges harmful free radicals.
    It contains simple sugars like fructose and sucrose and some simple fats that replenish energy and revitalize the body instantly. Hence, durian is highly effective as a supplement food for underweight children.
    Apart from iron, lack of folate can also lead to a type of anemia called pernicious anemia. Durian, being a good source of folate, helps in producing normal red blood cells (RBC).
    Durian aids in regulating blood sugar level, due to its rich manganese content.
    By promoting a normal appetite, durian helps in producing hydrochloric acid in the stomach, thereby assisting in proper digestion of food.
    Packed with nutrients, durian helps in increasing energy, endurance, mental clarity and cellular health.
    It enhances libido, thereby revitalizing the desire for sexual intimacy.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come take up the cross, and follow me. Mark 10:21

The contrast between rich and poor peope is very high in Malaysia.

Malaysia

Last Monday evening I arrived to Malaysia Borneo Island. I took plane from Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur and from there to Kota Kinabalu. My friends picked me up at the airport. It took me 10 and a half hour all together to reach destionatio. But I can only say praise the God no complications occured during my journey.
First impression about Malaysia...some parts very poor some very rich. But people are very friendly and open to talk. LOTS of homeless dogs. Already next day after my arrival I got to taste Durian...So many strange stories heard about durian before. The taste is like vanilla cream..yummy. Anyway its such a big variety of fruits and veggies, just have to know how to prepair and eat them...I am getting used to.
Already next day I was involved in Natural Therapy clinic work (colonics, hydrotherapy, massage ect.) Timetable is very busy. We have also hairdresser and cosmetician at the clinic. I got nice hair cut..., they want to make me chemical curls, but I skip that part.
Anyway its hot here and humid and the nature is bit similar as in europe, many leafy trees and bushes. In Australia there were many palm trees. Here less of them.
